BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A crash that led to the arrest of a driver was reported recently in Basking Ridge, according to latest police blotter.

On Nov. 29 at around 7:16 p.m., police went to the intersection of Mt. Airy Road and Lyons Road for a motor vehicle crash.

While on scene, officers determined that one of the drivers involved in the crash was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, according to the Bernards Township Police blotter.

Judith Green, 76, of Basking Ridge was arrested for driving under the influence. Green was issued several motor vehicle summonses and later released from police custody pending a municipal court appearance.

During the above timeframe, Bernards Township Police Department officers responded to 12 motor vehicle crashes with three injuries reported. Eight motor vehicle summonses were issued to drivers involved in the crashes.

On Nov. 18 at around 7:40 p.m.: An officer on patrol saw a black Nissan Rogue that returned with a DMV inquiry showing the registered owner to have a suspended license and multiple traffic warrants. A traffic stop was conducted on the Nissan, and the driver of the vehicle was positively identified as the registered owner, Jessica Gooden-Fernandez, 43, of Basking Ridge. Gooden-Fernandez was placed under arrest for three outstanding traffic warrants stemming from Glen Ridge, Boonton, and Montville. Gooden-Fernandez was later released with a new court date for all warrants and issued a motor vehicle summons for driving with a suspended license.

On Nov. 21 at around 9:23 p.m.: Officers responded to the Exxon on King George Road for the report of a dispute. The reporting party advised the attendant dispensed more gasoline than requested. Officers were able to de-escalate the dispute and advised both parties the issue could be brought up in civil court should they choose.

On Nov. 25 at around 12:05 a.m.: An officer on patrol saw a red Audi Q3 traveling south on Martinsville Road. The officer saw the vehicle drifting in the lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Achintya Singh, 23, of Princeton Junction, was arrested for driving under the influence alcohol and/or drugs. Singh was issued motor vehicle summonses and later released from police custody pending a municipal court appearance.

On Nov. 25 at around 6:25 p.m.: An officer on patrol saw a gray Acura TLX traveling on King George Road with an equipment violation. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and the driver, Byron Martin, 37, of Piscataway, was arrested on an active NCIC warrant out of Plainfield. Martin was issued a motor vehicle summons and turned over to Plainfield Police Department.

On Nov. 27 at around 10:42 a.m.: An officer on patrol saw a gray Toyota Sienna traveling east on Route 78. The officer observed an equipment violation on the vehicle and conducted motor vehicle stop. The driver, Tony Alexander, 56, of Somerville, had active warrants issued by Watchung Borough. Alexander was arrested, issued a motor vehicle summons, and turned over to the Watchung Police Department.

On Nov. 27: A resident of Patriot Hill Drive reported a package was stolen from their front porch around 3:12 p.m. Surveillance video of the incident was obtained and the Detective Bureau is investigating.

On Nov. 30: A resident of Woodward Lane reported a backpack was stolen from their front porch. The backpack contained personal items and the Detective Bureau is investigating.
