"Thieves are now attempting to enter residences to look for vehicle keys if the vehicles they seek to steal are locked," said Bernards Township Police Department(BTPD). "As much as BTPD and other police departments have continuously reminded residents to lock their vehicles and take the keys inside, BTPD now urges residents to hide their keys in inconspicuous places within the residence that thieves cannot easily find."
